Bonsai summer lineup

Kesäinen bonsai-kuvakokoelma

A short photospread of some bonsai taken this summer.

Sometimes you just need to take a break from the seemingly endless list of garden and bonsai activities in summer, and take some snapshots of the projects. Some of these bonsai were on sale at Arboretum Mustila's Taimipäivä (nursery plant market) at the end of August.

A dual trunk (one trunk dead) bonsai, made from a regular Thuja 'Brabant'. This was bought as a hedge plant, and gradually reduced over several years.

An advantage of starting with an already grown tree, (rather than a seedling) is the nice thick nebari (root base) already present.
